Livermore Valley Half.

Dear Livermore Friends:

There is no higher priority to our entire running family than the safety of our runners, spectators, volunteers and staff.  We regret to inform our runners that the Livermore Valley Half Marathon has been cancelled due to the increasing threat of COVID-19 in the Bay Area and will be held as a virtual event.

On March 10th at 2:00 p.m., Alameda County Public Health Department issued a ban on gatherings over 1,000 people, which this event falls under. While it is extremely difficult to cancel an event, we support the County’s decision to ban large gatherings in the interest of public safety.

Our entire team lives, works and runs in the Bay Area with the mission of creating a place to showcase and celebrate running through the eyes of our community, our family. We know many of you have trained and made sacrifices for months in anticipation of a great personal accomplishment. With this in mind, all runners will remain registered as virtual participants.

While we plan to mail your custom bib, long sleeve tech tee and finisher medal, we will be continuing with our packet pickup events for those who are comfortable attending and invite you to join us to grab all of your goodies, including your custom wine glass and challenge medal.

  • March 12, 5 - 7 p.m. // Altamont Beer Works Launch Party, Packet Pickup & Runner’s Hi.P.A Can Release exclusively for Livermore Valley Half

  • March 13, 5 - 7 p.m. // Sunrise Mountain Sports Packet Pickup & Shopping Party

  • March 14, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. // Darcie Kent Winery & Packet Pickup with Live Music & Wine Tasting

Together, we can rally for a positive, healthy experience and celebrate the Livermore Valley Half with photos, encouragement and meet-ups using #WeRunLiv across all social channels.

We love Livermore and plan to come back better than ever on March 7, 2021. We regret we are unable to host our amazing event and hope you understand this decision was beyond our control. This is an unprecedented global public health issue and we must do our part to act responsibly and protect our runners, volunteers, fans, sponsors and staff.

Love for Miles,

Ryan Dawkins, Race Director
