Bay Bridge Half Marathon Named One of Top 20 Global Events by Runner’s World

The inaugural, sold-out Bay Bridge Half Marathon, which made history in 2019 as the first-ever half marathon across the iconic Bay Bridge, was named a Challenge Awards finalist as one of the Top 20 Events Globally by Runner’s World and Let’s Do This.

Owned by Mascot Sports, a leader in one-of-a-kind endurance sports experiences, the Bay Bridge Half gives a highly premium, locally curated experience with community partners including Oaklandish, Old Kan Beer, the Oakland Athletics, top local chefs and more.

“We’re always on a mission to bring one-of-a-kind, fresh experiences to our hometown, one that bucks the status quo and features not only the first-round trip across our fabled bridge, but a local, immersive experience,” said Mascot Sports Founder and CEO, Ryan Dawkins. “We’re thrilled this event is being recognized by Runner’s World and Let’s Do This for setting the standard in the endurance space.”

The event, which will be back on May 3, 2020 for its second year, will start in West Oakland and give runners a wide, fast and fun few miles before arriving at the entrance to the bridge path. As athletes proceed toward Treasure Island, they’ll enjoy sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the ever-evolving San Francisco Skyline. On the return, they’ll have a front row seat to Oakland’s infamous cranes, town-scape and beautiful rolling hills.
